The company Jaguar published a video with tests of electric crossover I-Pace, and also reported some details about the novelty. The electric car will be presented on March 1, and its public premiere will be held on the 6th of the same month as part of the Geneva Motor Show.
The car passed a series of tests at a special tests roads in the Arieplug commune in the north of Sweden, where the temperature at this time of year falls to minus 40 degrees Celsius. The company noted that the crossover will be an “ideal car for everyday use” with a sufficient power reserve even at extremely low negative temperatures.
Jaguar I-Pace customers will be offered a quick charging system with a capacity of 100 kW, with which the battery reserve can be replenished up to 80% in just 45 minutes.
The technical characteristics of the crossover are still kept in secret. The prototype, presented in 2016 on the motor show in Los Angeles, was equipped with two electric motors with a total capacity of 400 horsepower. The engines are powered by a set of batteries with a capacity of 90 kWh. According to preliminary data, new Jaguar I-Pace electric crossover will be able to accelerate from rest to 100 km/h in four seconds and will be able to drive without recharging the batteries to 500 kilometers.
New Jaguar I-Pace will be available in four trim levels. The equipment of the basic version will include LED optics, 18-inch aluminum wheels and the Meridian audio system. Top variants will be offered with leather interior trim, heated seats, a panoramic roof and a projection display. The price of a Jaguar I-Pace are not known.
According to preliminary data, sales of the electric crossover will begin near the end of 2018.
