Hyundai UK has officially announced the prices and specifications of Kona Electric, which will be available on sale from August 2. Kona Electric – the latest electrified model from Hyundai.
The front part has slightly refreshed, having received a silver insert connecting daytime running lights, and also the closed lattice of a radiator. In addition, under the cover instead of the grille there is a socket for charging, and the bumper received air intakes with controlled valves.
At the rear, the bumper has been redesigned to improve airflow, and the design of the rear optics has been updated, retaining its shape. From the side, we can note the appearance of new 17-inch alloy wheels, patches on the thresholds in a new style, as well as new extensions of wheel arches.
In the bodywork palette of the electric SUV, seven colors have been added (including specially designed for this model color Galactic Gray). In combination with 3 shades of the roof, they create 21 color combinations. Otherwise, the car resembles a serial version with ICE.
Under the hood, the car can be equipped with either an electric motor with 110 kW (136 hp) capacity with a lithium-ion battery of 39 kW, or a more powerful 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor and a 64 kW lithium-ion battery .
Safety functions include a system of autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian recognition, a collision warning system, a blind zone monitoring system, and a semi-autonomous parking system. The prices will start from 29 495 pounds sterling for the variant Kona Electric SE 39 kW.
Kona Electric Premium 39kWh is the next model in the range, the cost of which will start from 30 870 pounds sterling. The top version of Kona Electric Premium SE with a battery of 64 kW will cost from 36 295 pounds sterling.
As already mentioned, sales will begin already on August 2 this year. And while the model will be presented only in the market of Great Britain and Europe. Later the electric car will spread to other markets.
