Hyundai announced a “green” version of the Kona cross

The Korean brand has published a video clip of a fully electric SUV.

Crossover Hyundai Kona with ICE made its debut last year, and at the end of this month the company will present an electro-version of the model. Judging by the short roller, installed in place of the traditional radiator grille, “plug” at the “green” cross will differ in shape and pattern. Other design features of Kona Electric are still difficult to see.

As it was reported in Hyundai motors, in Europe the electric locomotive will be available with two variants of the power plant. The power reserve of the top version on one charge is about 470 kilometers. Other details are not disclosed.

The first display of Hyundai Kona Electric SUV will be held on February 27, and the public debut of the novelty will be held in March this year at the Geneva Motor Show. In the European market, the electric car will come out in the summer. By the way, the press service of the brand noted that Hyundai will be the first manufacturer in the Europe, which will offer a fully electric crossover.

The line of engines of the “standard” European modification Kona includes petrol turbo 1.0 T-GDI (120 hp) and a four-cylinder turbo engine 1.6 T-GDI (177 hp), and a 1.6 (115 or 136 hp turbodiesel). The basic gasoline engine and the weakest diesel combine with the 6-speed manual transmission, the drive of such machines is only the front. For other variants, a seven-speed automatic transmission with a double clutch and a four-wheel drive are provided.

In Germany, the price of Hyundai Kona with ICE starts from a mark of 17,500 euros. In France, SUV will cost at least 18,400 euros. The electric version of Kona will certainly be more expensive.
