To paint one of the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar parts, “moon dust” will be used. It will become a key ingredient in the paint, which will be called Karosserie Lunar Red. This was reported by Instagram-user Lamborghiniks, who owns several exclusive supercars.
To get dust, Lamborghiniks purchased a real stone from the Moon. It will be crushed and used to make a special paint, and the Valkyrie hyperkar will be the first machine for painting which uses material from outer space.
Aston Martin Valkyrie – a joint development of the British automaker and the company Red Bull. Hypercar is built on a carbon-fiber chassis with a carbon monocoque and is equipped with a 1000-horsepower 6.5-liter V12 engine developed by Cosworth. The power plant is equipped with an energy recovery system, like a formula car, which can shortly increase the total payback by another 130 horsepower.
It is expected that from zero to 320 kilometers per hour Aston Martin Valkyrie will be able to accelerate in 10 seconds. At full stop with this speed will be enough for five seconds.
Experiments with paints are popular among Japanese manufacturers. So, the company Lexus told about a special blue color – Structural Blue – for the development of which it took 15 years. The color, inspired by the Morpho butterfly, is based on a pigment with 40 separate layers. It changes its shade depending on the lighting.
