The updated X1 xDrive25e compact crossover with a 9.7 kWh battery and all-wheel drive boasts a power reserve of over 50 km in full electric mode during the NEDC fuel efficiency test cycle.

BMW introduces a new generation of the smallest sports car – the BMW X1. It is worth noting that the X1 has already been offered in the plug-in hybrid version xDrive25Le (starting in 2016), but only in the Chinese automotive market, and now the German manufacturer is preparing to release a new version of xDrive25Le again for this country.

Starting in the summer of this year, in Europe the latest generation of the model will initially be offered in regular versions (since the summer of 2019). In March 2020, BMW will launch the production of the X1 xDrive25e with a plug-in hybrid 4th generation for the first time. By the way, it will also be installed in the updated BMW 225xe Active Tourer minivan.

It is expected that the updated X1 xDrive25e crossover will receive a power reserve of more than 50 km in a fully electric mode during the NEDC test cycle (probably about 32 km in the real world).

According to official data, the BMW X1 xDrive25e will offer a combined gas mileage of 2.0 l / 100 km; CO2 emissions in the aggregate range from 43 g / km. The car is equipped with the fourth generation of BMW batteries, which gives the latter a total energy content of 9.7 kWh. The novelty will receive an all-wheel drive system. More information about the X1 PHEV will be released closer to the exit of the car on the market.

Serial production of plug-in hybrid crossover is scheduled for March 2020.
