The new crossover Honda can make its debut in the car dealership in Los Angeles, which opens in November this year, reports Automotive News. According to the publication, for the model the name Passport will be revived: under this name, Honda produced an SUV in the 90s of the last century.
It is expected that in the brand line the novelty will occupy a niche between CR-V and Pilotю. The crossover is planned to be manufactured in the US. Officially, the Honda model has not yet announced.
Meanwhile, last year, Honda patented the design of a new cross-coupe in the United States, which turned out to be a copy of the “twins” Avancier and UR-V, available only in China. Recall coupe-like SUV came to Chinese market in late 2016 – early 2017, among themselves, they only differ slightly externally. In China, Avancier produces a joint venture of Honda and GAC, and UR-V is produced at Honda and Dongfeng.
So it is possible that under the name Passport in the US market will sell a localized version of Avancier / UR-V.
Previously, Honda declassified the restyling crossover Vezel, intended for Japan. In other countries, the model is known as HR-V.
