Company Lotus in honor of its 70th anniversary prepared special modifications of the sports car Exige – Type 49 and 79. The premiere of the cars took place at the Festival of speed in Goodwood.
Specialties are named after Formula 1 cars: at Lotus Type 49, Graham Hill won the championship and the Constructors’ Championship fifty years ago, and won the Mario Andretti Championship forty years ago. Both versions are built on the basis of the most extreme Exige in history – Cup 430 – and painted in the colors of classic racing cars.
The technical stuffing of sports cars has not changed. The coupe is equipped with a six-cylinder engine in volume of 3.5 liters with a mechanical supercharger and a six-speed manual transmission. The engine gives out 430 horsepowers and allows the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in 3,3 seconds. The maximum speed is 289 kilometers per hour.
The coupe is also equipped with customized Nitron shock absorbers, adjustable Eibach anti-roll bars, AP Racing four-piston brakes, aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and a carbon-fiber aerodynamic body kit.
The usual Lotus Exige Cup 430 costs 99.8 thousand pounds. The cost of special versions is not yet called.
