The Volkswagen concern itself recognizes in a compact hatchback up! GTI sports model. But in reality the car just seems to be a “charged” car. But he does not take away his charm. And the model should be looked at more in detail after the tuning of B & B Automobiltechnik tuners.
Volkswagen up! GTI is a “charged” kid from the famous German concern. With modest size and its capabilities are also modest. However, the attractive appearance, made in the style of the company and the line of GTI, and a modest mass do their thing. The model is quite popular, it can come to taste to many.
But now it is worth even more carefully to think about buying this “baby”. After all, for its revision took the famous German studio B & B Automobiltechnik. In addition to forcing a modest ICE, the tuners reconfigured the suspension. Now the clearance is even shorter by 30 mm, and in the suspension itself there are adjustable shock absorbers. This significantly reduced the center of gravity, which in turn increases stability in corners.
In the standard up! GTI uses a turbo engine with a working volume of 1.0 liter, capable of developing up to 115 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. But after completion, the small motor is able to give up to 145 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. In pair with it the six-speed manual transmission is still established.
If the standard version of the model is able to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 8.8 seconds, the modified version accelerated by 0.9 seconds, with the maximum speed also increased from 197 km/h to 210 km/h. The engine refit package includes optimization of the intake path, modification of the electronics in parallel with the change in the control program and an increase in the boost pressure by 0.25 bar.
The appearance remained the same, and according to many, and so does not require further development, although the new optics in the front and a modest spoiler from the rear would not prevent. Salon and so interesting enough. Volkswagen up! GTI has a classic for the line of charged cars of the concern cellular plating of seats, as well as a front panel made using carbon.
Unfortunately, the cost of improvements will not be at all satisfactory, and the maximum forcing will cost 1,498 euros (115,000 rubles at the current rate). But tuners from the studio B&B Automobiltechnik provided for more budgetary options – up to 125 hp and 220 Nm for 698 euros or up to 136 hp. and 240 Nanometers for 998 euros.
Meanwhile, in the new “charged” version of the Jetta GLI, under the hood there will be a modified version of the same turbocharged engine, the power of which will obviously be much less than 493 horsepower.
