The company Geely introduced the conceptual electric crossover Concept Icon, which was based on the platform Volvo XC40. The public premiere of the novelty was held within the framework of the Beijing Motor Show.
Geely Concept Icon is built on the modular architecture of CMA, developed jointly by engineers from Volvo and Geely. The chassis was designed to be compatible with both conventional internal combustion engines and hybrid or fully electric power units.
The developers noted that Geely Concept Icon has a so-called “8-bit design, where simple lines are combined with sharp angles”. The front part of the body resembles the crossover Range Rover Evoque, while the shape of the rear is similar to the Kia Soul.
Data on the power plant prototype is kept secret. It is assumed that the Geely Concept Icon is intended to give an idea of the future serial “green” crossover, which will be designed for the Chinese market.
