Formula E: the sixth stage was won by Jean-EricMarch 23, 2019
In the season 2018/19, the current champion of the electric series celebrates his first victory. Not without an accident in which Nelson Piquet fell. The race was held in the city of Sanya, Hainan Island.
The first started pole position holder Oliver Rowland, followed by Jean-Eric and in such a position, they spent almost half of the race. But already in the middle of the distance, the Frenchman overtook the British without any problems, and 10 minutes before the end of the races, red flags were raised and the race had to be stopped due to the Pique accident – his car crashed into the fence.
In addition, Alex Sims got off the track. He was pushed hard by André Lotterer, team mate. The electric car was badly damaged and it was not immediately able to evacuate.
Already on restart, the French pilot did not give up the position and confidently drove to the finish. His time is 1: 02.50,185. Rowland came second with a 1.7-second lag – 1: 02.51,947. Which is also good, considering that this is the debut season of the Briton and the first podium in the course of FE.
Three leaders closes Antonio Felix da Costa – 1: 02.53,453. In the final table Verní is on the third line with Sam Bird, yielding eight points to da Costa.
