Ford Ranger dressed up after its competitor Toyota HiluxApril 25, 2018
A special version is provided for the Ranger in the top version Wildtrak with a double cabin. The new special version received a prefix in the form of the letter X. The body of this pickup truck is painted in blue “metallic” (for the first time for Ranger Wildtrak), the grille, footboards, door handles, rails and disks are made in black. In the same color, the interior was also designed.
The Ford Ranger Wildtrak X is available only with a rigidly connected all-wheel drive and a five-cylinder 3.2 Duratorq diesel engine with a power of 200 hp, which works in tandem with a six-speed automatic transmission. On the “normal” Ranger Wildtrak this engine is still combined with the 6MKP. Also, “just Wildtrak” and a standard pickup in Europe can be bought with a four-cylinder diesel engine of 2.2 Duratorq with a payout of 130 or 160 hp, in the base model equipped with this engine, the drive can be rear.
The public premiere of the special version took place at the exhibition of trucks in British Birmingham, which opened today, April 24. European dealers have already started accepting orders for a novelty, but its price has not yet been announced. “Standard” Ranger Wildtrak with engine 3.2 in Germany, for example, costs from 44,190 euros. Wildtrak X is likely to be a bit more expensive. Deliveries of cars will begin in August.
By the way, on the eve of the new version of the performance appeared in the rival Ford Ranger – pickup Toyota Hilux. Let’s note, according to the results of the last year, the model of the American brand became the most sold in its segment in the Old World: in 2017, 44 600 pick-up trucks Ranger were sold. However, the Toyota truck lags not so much: Hilux sold in Europe in a circulation of 41,044 copies.
