The company Ford has equipped an extreme pickup F-150 Raptor adaptive suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers Fox Racing, equipped with the technology of Live Valve. It allows you to quickly adapt to road conditions and change the damping characteristics of each rack individually.
To manage the suspension, Ford developed its own algorithms. For example, when driving on the road, the shock absorbers become more rigid to improve controllability, and in the corners the computer clamps the external racks, minimizing rolls. In the off-road mode, on the contrary, the suspension becomes softer.
In addition, the system of adaptation to road conditions is able to detect the separation of the front wheels from the ground and prevent impacts by the bottom when landing. It also adapts to active driving, changing the parameters of changing the rigidity of the suspension to more aggressive ones.
Despite the installation of new racks and electronic components, the geometric characteristics of the passability of the Ford F-150 Raptor remained unchanged: the course of the suspension is 330.2 millimeters in front and 353 millimeters behind, the angle of entry is 30 degrees.
The F-150 Raptor is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine from the EcoBoost family, delivering 380 horsepower and 637 Nm of torque, and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
