Honda introduced the fifth-generation CR-V crossover in the specification for Europe. Unlike the other version, which is offered only with atmospheric engines and a variator, European all-terrain vehicles are equipped with a turbo-engine, coupled with a manual or a stepless transmission CVT.
The 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine debuted on the Civic. However, on the CR-V it is equipped with a turbocharger specially developed for the crossover. The output of the unit in conjunction with the manual transmission is 173 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque, with the variator – 193 and 243 Nm torque.
From a place to 100 kilometers per hour Honda CR-V with a turbo engine can accelerate in 9.3 seconds. The maximum speed of the crossover is 211 kilometers per hour. The most powerful CR-V version of the model, equipped with a 2.4-liter 186-hp atmospheric engine, accelerates to 100 km/h in 10.2 seconds. Its maximum speed is 190 kilometers per hour.
Similar to the versions for the USA , the European Honda CR-V received a modernized all-wheel drive system: now the rear axle is transferred to 60 percent more torque, and the total torque on the wheels increased by 15 percent to 550 Nm.
The standard equipment of the crossover includes six airbags and a set of Honda Sensing systems. Among them: adaptive cruise control, a system to prevent frontal collisions, hold in the lane and read traffic signs. In Europe, CR-V will be offered in five- or seven-seater versions.
