Electric cars are coming: the expected novelties of 2019January 2, 2019
Despite the fact that the electrification of cars is full of hearing and every new electric car is thoroughly discussed, there are not so many new products. However, experts have worked and made a list of expected new products in 2019.
According to experts of the foreign automotive publication Electrek, the year 2019 will become saturated for the electric market segment, but the boom of new products will still have to wait in 2020-2021. And now you can see what companies are preparing for us this year.
And first of all I would like to remember that in the fall there will be presented two of the most anticipated electric vehicles of the mass segment – the Audi E-Tron and Mercedes EQC crossovers. Both cars are direct competitors and will be the first-born German brands from Ingolstadt and Stuttgart in the new lines of electric cars. But until the models come out, Jaguar with its I-Pace is trying to play positions in Europe in advance.
One more novelty, loud, expected and interesting will be the first electric car from the Porsche brand. The future car, called the Taycan, marks the beginning of a whole family of electric cars, including the speedy Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, which clearly targets the same segment as the ones mentioned above.
The Bavarian guys from BMW are also unwilling to lag behind and are preparing a whole range of new products, including electrification of the MINI brand, as well as the release of new versions of the BMW i3. In the future, it is planned to release an electric analogue of the BMW X5 SUV. At the same time, Volvo is preparing a fully electric version of the XC40.
Thus, we see that electric cars are entering our lives tightly, and considering the volume of investments in this segment – their share among all cars will grow.
