In Beijing, debuted racing hypercar with a carbon construction, two electric motors and a fully automatic control system
DS brand, part of the French PSA alliance, introduced the conceptual 1360-hp carbon hypercar X E-Tense. The premiere of the prototype took place at the Beijing Motor Show.
The developers noted that the novelty is a “look at the racing car of 2035”. Double supercar, built on an ultralight carbon chassis, received a torsion suspension.
DS X E-Tense equipped with two electric motors, which are located on the front and rear axle. With standard driving, the aggregates produce a total of 540 hp, but if the special racing mode “Circuit” is activated, their output rises to 1360 hp, which is equivalent to 1 megawatt.
The prototype also received a system of fully automatic control, which is controlled by a special virtual assistant called IRIS, which is displayed in the video of the holographic image in the cabin.
Earlier, the DS brand management promised that the brand will produce at least one hybrid model each year. The last such car was crossover DS 7 Crossback. The power plant includes a gasoline engine, developing 200 hp, as well as two 80-kilowatt electric motors. In total, the aggregates produce 300 horsepower. Exclusively on electric traction the crossover is capable to pass 59 kilometers.
