Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and BMW M5 compared in two drag racing and race on the track
The hosts of Throttle House YouTube channel were compared in two drag racing and race on the track of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and the BMW M5 sports sedan in the Competition version. In this case, the cars competed not on a special drag track, but in conditions close to a real street race.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is equipped with a 850-horsepower 6.2 V8 engine with a drive supercharger (torque – 1044 Nm). From a place to a hundred kilometers per hour, the musclecar accelerates in 2.6 seconds. Dragging distance of a quarter mile (402 meters) “Demon” passes for 9.65 seconds, at the finish speed exceeds 225 kilometers per hour.
Sedan BMW M5 Competition is equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, giving out 625 forces and 750 Nm of torque. The all-wheel drive M5 is able to exchange the first 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, the second – in 10.8 seconds.
