The third-generation roadster will make it look like the prototype of the same name and will be presented by the end of the year
On the Internet appeared patent images of the roadster BMW Z4 of the third generation. Pictures were published by Autoweek. Judging by them, the car as a whole will retain the basic stylistic features of its prototype, shown last year at the Elegance Contest in American Pebble Beach.
The car will get a soft folding up instead of a rigid folding roof. At this step, the company’s engineers went for the sake of reducing weight and improving controllability. Body Z5 will be made of carbon fiber and the composition will be similar to that used on the models of BMW i3 and i8.
According to the publication, the car will receive a new top-end modification called M40i. Most likely, such a car will be equipped with an inflatable six-cylinder engine, issuing 340 horsepower. In addition, the roadster will be available with a more powerful modification of the same engine, which develops 390 hp.
Most likely, BMW will declassify the novelty this summer. Public debut roadster is expected at the motor show in Paris in October this year. Assembly of the novelty will be arranged at the Magna Steyr plant in Graz (Austria).
