From the diesel version of the model made a car for racers with disabilities.
The British division of Honda has supported the charitable organization Mission Motorsport and the factory team Synchro in creating a racing version of the CR-V. The car was specially prepared for the “Memory Race”, scheduled for November 11 at the Anglesley circuit in Wales.
Under the hood of a racing crossover built on the basis of a fourth-generation model, a 1.6-liter diesel engine with a payload of 160 hp is installed. and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is combined with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Let’s note, Mission Motorsport organization is focused on former military men, many of whom became invalids in military conflicts, due to which the choice was made in favor of such version, which allows riders without a limb to drive a car.
The CR-V engine was upgraded, including new software of the electronic control unit, a new exhaust system was installed, the suspension was lowered, the brakes from the Civic Type R were borrowed, and the car received new wheels and a lighting unit. Inside, a safety cage was assembled and a bucket-like racing chair was installed.
