Conceptual Cupra Formentor presented in GenevaMarch 6, 2019
The model looks like an ordinary serial car. If the company announced the start of sales in a week – we would not be surprised. On the release of the coupe-shaped crossover rumors have long been going on, and now we see a clear incarnation of this.
We have long understood that the Cupra brand which has separated from SEAT will actively develop and will receive a rather extensive model line. As part of the Geneva Motor Show, the Formentor coupe-shaped crossover was introduced, although the concept model is least like the most – it is rather a pre-production prototype of a real model.
It should be noted that Formentor will differ from the entire line of the company due to the deep electrification of PHEV. A hybrid system with a total power of up to 245 horsepower will be used as a power unit. It will be based on a 1.5-liter engine TSI with a capacity of up to 150 forces, as well as an electric motor with a capacity of up to 105 horsepower.
Charging the battery with a capacity of 13 kW * hours occurs in just 2.5 hours. The preliminary range of electricity will be 70 km, but this is under ideal conditions. The salon will use the Cupra corporate identity, as well as the new generation multimedia system shown on the Seat el-Born.
Unfortunately, the company has not yet disclosed any specific deadlines for entering the market, as well as a possible price tag. We expect the model to start selling in Europe by the end of this year.
