Concept Seat El-Born at the Geneva Motor ShowMarch 5, 2019
Spanish Seat introduced the concept of an electric hatchback El-Born, which is built on a special MEB-platform from the VW Group, designed for electric vehicles
The concern Volkswagen believe that environmentally friendly cars in the next couple of decades will be able to seriously press the “oil cars”.
Codenamed MEB, which is specially made for electric vehicles, that is, it was initially thought out that batteries would be located under the floor, one or more engines would stand in front or behind, and so on.
The first child of this platform will be the model of Volkswagen I.D. – its serial release will begin this year. Well, the second will not be Audi and not even Skoda. And the Spanish Seat.
Seat el-Born looks similar to the Volkswagen I.D, especially in profile, and both cars will be produced at the same factory in the German Zwickau. At the moment, it is known that the coolest version of el-Born will receive an engine with a power of 204 hp, and there will be enough batteries for 420 kilometers. The acceleration time of 0-100 km / h is 7.5 s. It is possible that later there will be options with a less powerful engine, which will be cheaper, for example, the Volkswagen I.D will have a 170-horsepower engine.
