There is a possibility that the CEO of Renault SA will leave his post, which he occupies for 13 years, before 2022. About this, Carlos Ghosn told the Financial Times.
In an interview with an international newspaper, the head of the French company said that his contract expires in four years, that is, in 2022. But he can leave the post of CEO before this time. However, it is unlikely that he will leave the company “for good”.
In addition to the position of CEO, 64-year-old Ghosn is also chairman of the board of directors of Renault, chairman of the board of directors of Nissan and Mitsubishi, CEO and chairman of the board of directors of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi group. Which he does not intend to leave yet. Last year, he left the position of Nissan CEO, leaving the chairmanship of the board of directors.
Mr. Ghosn also noted in his interview that he always strove to bring together the three companies, perhaps even creating one legal entity on their basis.
Now Nissan owns 15% of the shares of the French company and 34% of Mitsubishi. And Renault owns a 43.4% stake in Nissan. Thanks to the merger of production capacities in 2017, it was possible to save 5.7 billion euros. With plans for this year to achieve savings of 10 billion euros.
