BMW unveiled the updated family of the BMW M8June 5, 2019
The legendary German manufacturer BMW introduced the world to the new M8 family. Sport convertible and coupe got a powerful engine with two turbochargers and a volume of 4.4 liters (V8), which is capable of producing power equal to 600 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque (as is the case with the M5).
Simultaneously with the standard M8, the German car giant has released a more “advanced” version with the Competition package. The presence of the latter makes it possible to accelerate the engine to 617 hp. Exactly the same features received an updated version, presented in the back of a convertible.
Regardless of the presented version of the M8 is equipped with an 8-speed Steptronic gearbox, and also has a full drive BMW xDrive. Acceleration to 100 km/h occurs in just 3.1 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited by electronics (with the M Driver’s package) to 250 km/h and 305 km/h. These characteristics raise the BMW M8 to the rank of the fastest cars along with the Ferrari 812 Superfast, as well as the Aston Martin Vantage.
The updated family looks practically no different from the “civil” 8 Series. Except for the updated 20-inch wheels with M-design, new bumpers and exhaust pipes. And emphasizes the difference – the spoiler, located at the stern.
It is planned that the massive sales of the new family will begin in September this year. A public premiere of the car will occur at a special event, which will be held in Munich. It is expected that the cost of a convertible will be $ 142,500, and the coupe will have to pay a little less – $ 133,000.
Recall that today the prototype of the updated Renault Zoe fell into the hands of journalists. It is expected that the debut of new items will take place in the next few weeks.
