The tuning studio Hennessey Performance organized a drag race between the “charged” Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk SUV and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody coupe. Both cars are equipped with a 717-horsepower V8 Hellcat engine. Video arrivals are posted on the company’s channel on YouTube.
Passport data acceleration to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) for cars are also almost identical: Cherokee requires 3.5 seconds for this, and Challenger – 3.4 seconds. The distance to the distance of a mile (402 meters) cars pass for 10.6 and 10.9 seconds, respectively.
However, unlike the Challenger, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is equipped with a four-wheel drive system and a “launcher-control”. At the same time, the mass of the SUV is 350 kilograms more than the coupe.
From the usual Challenger Hellcat, the car with the Widebody prefix differs by 8.9 centimeters in arches. This allowed the installation of tires with a width of 305 millimeters instead of 275 millimeters.
