Audi plans to introduce 30 electrified models by 2025June 2, 2019
By 2025, approximately 40% of the global sales of the German brand will fall on plug-in hybrid and all-electric models. New items will be offered in every market segment – from compact to full-size class. Avant and Sportback versions will also be available.
Audi recently announced a significantly accelerated electrification of its lineup. The German manufacturer intends in just 7 years to increase the number of plug-in hybrid models to more than 30 pieces, and 20 of them will be completely electric!
It is expected that such a large number of electrified models will lead to the fact that by 2025 the share of such cars in the total world sales of a prestigious company will be about 40%.
To this end, Audi management plans to invest about 14 billion euros in the development of mobility, digital technology and highly automated driving.
“By 2025, the Audi model range will already include more than 30 electric models, of which 20 will be completely electric. To enter the world of premium-class electrified vehicles, the company will by then release at least three models based on the MEB modular platform. The first models with the PPE architecture, developed in conjunction with Porsche engineers, will be available early in the next decade. It is expected that by 2025, about 40 percent of all global sales will fall to the share of electrified cars. ”
