Audi made the announcement of the presentation of two new electric carsMarch 13, 2019
Audi this year is going to present two new conceptual electric vehicles. According to Autocar, the first of them will debut at the motor show in Shanghai next month and is intended to create an idea of the development of electric cars of the German manufacturer in the next ten years.
An electric car will be able to boast a fourth-level autopilot system, that is, a motorist can, if he wishes, take control of his hands. It is expected that the prototype version will acquire a completely new interior design, including a retractable steering wheel.
The head of the German auto giant design department, Mark Lichte, noted that the presence of a fourth-level autopilot will significantly change the interior of the electric vehicle. The manufacturer is ready to demonstrate to the public what a car might look like with or without the wheel.
The second electrified concept will be shown to motorists from around the world during the opening of the September international motor show in Frankfurt. At the moment, the details of this concept car are still highly classified.
According to Lithe, the concern has prototype models of the type of electric car Q4 e-tron, which to some extent are ready for conveyor production. At the same time, representatives of the brand are engaged in the development of concepts that are 10–15 years ahead of time. These include, for example, electric Aicon. Two more futuristic concepts will be demonstrated at motor shows in Shanghai and Frankfurt.
