Aston Martin DBX SUV will soon appear in China.
Needless to say, China’s market continues to evolve, and is now the largest in the world. This was evidenced by the recent Beijing Automobile Salon, in which absolutely new models were presented – Mercedes A-Class Sedan, BMW M2 Competition, Lexus ES and others.
At the same time, it is natural that brands are trying to match the trends of the local market, which influences their decisions – one of such brands is – Aston Martin, as the president and CEO of the British brand Andy Palmer officially said.
Aston Martin boss told Wards Auto that the upcoming DBX off-road vehicle will enter the market thanks to the activity of the Chinese market. He also added that the model would never have appeared without demand from China.
“China is important for our future, because of the strong and constantly growing positions here,” Palmer said on the press day during the Beijing Motor Show. And the Chinese market is so important for the company that Aston Martin is the official port of the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University in Shanghai.
In addition to the general work in the field of design, the partnership will track the color preferences of car owners from China, and will actively take this into practice. Earlier it was reported that the Chinese prefer brighter shades of cars than in other countries.
It should be noted that Aston Martin is developing rapidly in China, and in 2017 the volume of cars sold increased by 89% compared to last year. In addition, the Chinese premium market (or rather, the luxury goods market) takes one third of the world market, and by 2025 it can reach 44%.
Aston Martin DBX will be available by the end of 2019, with one third of all copies sold in China.
Recall that we previously learned that Aston Martin engineers can equip the first in the history of the brand crossover hybrid power unit, designed for a maximum power of 700 hp.
