The company Aston Martin is going to develop another mid-engine hypercar that could compete with such models as McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari, already taken off the production line. Such a model inside the British automaker is called “Valkyrie’s younger brother”. This is with reference to the head of Aston Martin Endley Palmer reports Autocar.
No information about the power unit new items in Aston Martin did not. It is assumed that the model will be built around a new carbon monocoque, to which aluminum subframes will be attached. When creating a model, the automaker’s specialists will use the knowledge gained during the development of Valkyrie.
Palmer also noted that the novelty will be another fruit of cooperation between Aston Martin and Formula 1 team Red Bull, whose technical director Adrian Newey was directly involved in the development of the Valkyrie. As part of this cooperation, the automaker is going to open an additional office, designed for about 130 people, which will be located in the immediate vicinity of the Red Bull base in English Milton Keynes.
Together with this, Aston Martin expects to release by 2021 a mid-engine supercar that would have competed with the Ferrari 488 GTB. Such a model will receive an entirely new power unit.
The circulation of Aston Martin Valkyrie will be 150 copies. Each of them will build on the basis of the physique of the client, since the chairs of the model are integrated into the monocoque. The model is equipped with a hybrid power plant with a capacity of 1130 horsepower. From a place up to 320 kilometers per hour Valkyrie accelerates in 10 seconds.
