Aston Martin Company presented racing versions of the new generation supercar Vantage – GT3 and GT4. The development of both cars is still ongoing, however, the first of these modifications will take part in the special 45-minute demonstration race of Aston in Le Mans on the same weekend as on the other 35 models of the British brand.
Top version – Vantage GT3 – will be homologated only in March next year, but its characteristics are already known. The supercar will receive a four-liter turbo eight Mercedes-Benz with a capacity of 543 horsepower, a six-speed sequential gearbox (instead of an eight-speed “automatic” from a civilian coupe), adjustable shock absorbers Öhlins and Alcon brakes. The weight of the car is 1245 kilograms, which is almost 300 kilograms lighter than the civil Vantage.
The GT3 modification is expected to receive the same 510-hp unit as the serial supercar. He will be able to participate in the endurance race of the VLN, the Pirelli World Challenge championship and the British GT-series. Homologation of the machine will be held on March 1 next year.
Serial Aston Martin Vantage is able to accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The maximum speed is 314 kilometers per hour.
