The Italian brand Alfa Romeo is preparing an updated engine for its Giulia sedan in the Veloce version. The new power unit will retain the compact configuration of the L4 turbocharged, but will receive an impressive boost for the factory car.
According to the portal Carscoops, under the hood of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce will soon appear 350 hp version of a two-liter turbocharged engine, whereas previously the most powerful engine for the version of Veloce developed no more than 280 hp.
If this information is confirmed, the updated engine will close the gap in the Alfa Romeo line, because the “hot” version of Quadrifoglio is equipped with a much more powerful bi-turbo engine with a capacity of 2.9 liters and a return of 510 forces.
It is noteworthy that at the moment the representatives of the brand in the US have so far rejected this information, as reported by the portal Car and Driver. But we are talking only about the car of the 2018 model year, and the company’s management does not say anything about the 2019 model year.
If Alfa Romeo still presents a 350-strong version of Giulia, then it will compete with the BMW 3 Series 340 xDrive, under the hood of which there is a petrol biturbed in-line six-cylinder with a payback of 326 horsepower.
