American studio Hennessey Performance has measured the maximum speed of the 1000-horsepower Chevrolet Camaro, which the company calls The Exorcist. At the test site in Uvald, Texas, the car was able to accelerate to 217 miles per hour (349.2 kilometers per hour).
“Exorcist” was built by tuners to the output of drag racing Dodge Challenger Demon, equipped with 850-horsepower (1044 Nm) eight-cylinder engine capacity of 6.2 liters. Hennessey was taken as the base for the “Exorcist” Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with a compressor engine V8. The unit was replaced by a mechanical supercharger, the camshaft, the cylinder block and the intake were modified.
From the place to 96 kilometers per hour, the Exorcist accelerates in about three seconds, and the drag distance of a quarter mile (402 meters) passes in 10 seconds. In Demon, the same exercises take 2.3 and 9.65 seconds, respectively.
The usual Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 can be turned into an “Exorcist” for 55 thousand dollars.
